Assembling the Professional Resource File can be time-consuming and tricky. 

Although the Council leaves it up to the Candidate to decide on a way to keep all of the items together, I highly recommend that the Resource Collection, Autobiography, and the six Competency Goal Statements be placed in a 2" ring binder.

A binder is highly portable, keeps everything inside, and is easy for the Council Representative to review.

It is important, however, that the binder be well-organized and carefully labeled throughout.

One of my CDA students approached me recently and asked, "Wouldn't it be great if we could get a binder already set up with dividers, labels, and page protectors, so all we'd have to do was load our materials into it and it would be all organized the way the Council wanted it?"

I agreed this was a great idea and decided it was something that CDA Candidates would find very useful and time-saving.
